Carl Quintana Sr.
NAVAJO ESTATES, N.M. — Services for Carl Quintana Sr., 64, will be 9:30 a.m., Friday, July 22, 2011, at the St. Francis Church in Gallup. The Rev. Larry Bernard, OFM, will officiate. Burial will follow in Fence Lake Cemetery.
Quintana died May 25, 2011, in Yatahey. He was born Oct. 7, 1946, in Tucumcari, N.M.
Survivors include his son Carl Quintana Jr., of Gallup; daughters Toni Quintana de Losa of Ahwatukee, Ariz., Alexandria Quintana of Whiteriver, Ariz., Pam Silva of Phoenix; brothers Cecil Quintana Jr., of Portland Ore., Arthur Quintana of Scottsdale, Edward Quintana of Albuquerque; sisters Susie Diaz, Betty Rodriguez, both of Gallup, Jennifer Diaz of Navajo Estates, Sandra Murray of Mesa, Ariz., and Loretta Vitek of Inner Grove, Minn.; 13 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents Cecil Quintana Sr., Angie Quintana; brothers Alfred Quintana, Phillip Quintana and one grandson.
Pallbearers will be Carl Quintana Jr.
The family will receive relatives and friends at Fence Lake Community Center off of Highway 36 after services.
Rollie’s Mortuary is in charge of cremation.
Desrhianna Phillips
GALLUP — Services for Desrhianna Jamie Phillips, 10 days old, were at 10 a.m., July 18, 2011, at Rollie’s Mortuary. The Rev. Geneva Silversmith officiated. Burial followed in Gallup City Cemetery.
Phillips died July 10, 2011, in Gallup. She was born June 30, 2011, in Gallup into the Meadow People Clan for the Choctaw People Clan.
Survivors include her parents Charity Garcia, Roger Phillips, both of Gallup; sisters Daisha Garcia, Daisy Phillips, both of Gallup; grandparents Nardene and Rosita Garcia, both of Gallup.
She was preceded in death by her great-great-great-grandparents Frank and Eva John of Coyote Canyon; great-great grandparents Hilda and Ben Joe Shorty of Coyote Canyon.
Pallbearers will be Ace Garcia and Donald Scott.
Rollie Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
Wilmer Shirley Sr.
TWIN LAKES, N.M. — Services for Wilmer Joe Shirley Sr. “Mo,” 49, will be at 10 a.m., Wednesday, July 20, 2011, at Rollie Mortuary. The Rev. Nathan Lynch will officiate. Burial will follow in the City Cemetery in Gallup.
Shirley died July 13, 2011, in Gallup. He was born Nov. 15, 1961, in Fort Defiance, Ariz., into the Red Running into the Water People Clan for the Bitter Water People Clan.
Shirley went to Wingate High School and graduated from Roswell University. He served in the U.S. Army and worked at various jobs including Earl’s and Sizzler’s
Survivors include his sons Lambert Shirley of Twin Lakes, Wilmer Shirley of Mariano Lake, Leander, Brandon and Cory Shirley , all of Grants; daughter Florence Ann King of Durango; mother Stella M. Shirley of Twin Lakes; brothers Arthur Shirley Jr of Twin Lakes, Delbert Shirley of Mariano Lake; sisters Ardellia Shirley of Twin Lakes, Cynthia Chee of Jones Ranch, N.M.; three grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father Arthur Shirley Sr., Joe Shirley Sr., Margerite Shirley, Theo Kinsel, Colby Shirley.
Pallbearers will be the Bahasti’ah Veterans. The family will receive relatives and friends at the Twin Lakes Chapter House following burial.
